CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Arthur M. Colbaugh, 26 Mar 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Arthur M. Colbaugh, 87, Herman Peters Road, Elizabethton, died Friday, March 26, 2004, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mr. Colbaugh was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Henry and Crecy Peters Colbaugh. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nannie Pearl Forbes Colbaugh, a daughter, Louella Colbaugh, a son-in- law, Howard Simerly, and three brothers, Kelsie, Luther and Herbert Colbaugh. Mr. Colbaugh was a retired employee of the Bemberg Corporation. He was a member of Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church, but attended New Liberty Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Virginia "Tootsie" Peters, Linda Simerly and Ruby "Peanut" Bowers and Eugene "Frosty" Bowers, all of Elizabethton; five sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Carolyn Colbaugh, Jessie and Brenda Colbaugh, Rev. Ray and Loretta Colbaugh, Powell and Wilma Colbaugh and Lester and Doris Colbaugh, all of Elizabethton; two sisters, Margaret Hardin and Lille Belle Rambo, both of Elizabethton; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his special friends, Randall and Gail Colbaugh, Bobby Wilson, C.W. Rambo, A.D. "Sonny" Fletcher and John Fletcher. Funeral services will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, March 28, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with his son, the Rev. Ray Colbaugh, and his grandson, the Rev. Kevin Colbaugh, officiating. Music will be provided by the New Liberty Quartet. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 29, in the Blevins Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Monday, will be his grandchildren: Tim Colbaugh, Gary Colbaugh, Randy Colbaugh, Dennis Peters, the Rev. Kevin Colbaugh, Michael Colbaugh, Mark Colbaugh, Joseph Colbaugh and David Bowers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
