Cole 09/09/99 Mrs. Frances B. Cole, 82, 195 Lacey Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Cole was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late Carl and Elizabeth Deloach Bowling. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank Cole, in 1969, a son, Jerry Wayne Cole, and a brother, Clarence Scoon Bowling. Mrs. Cole was a former machine operator with the Tennessee Line and Twine Company. She was a member of the First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Wayne Cole, Charles W. Cole and Bill H. Cole, all of Elizabethton; four daughters, Ada Ruth Cole, of the home, Shelby Jean Palmer, Phyllis McNeil and Carolyn Hughes, all of Elizabethton; a brother, Pete Bowling, Elizabethton; and a sister, Iva Lee Loudy, Elizabethton. Twenty-one grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. COLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Frances B. Cole, 82, 195 Lacey Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Gordon Welch officiating. Music will be by Mrs. Teresa Cole, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the Cole Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Chris Hyder, Jeffrey Cole, Billy Cole, Douglas Palmer, Billy Palmer and Jimmy Moffett. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. R. Eugene Galloway, the Staff of the Third Floor at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, Herman Colbaugh, Doug Colbaugh and Joe Cole. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Friday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may call at the residence any time. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
