Cole Ludie "Mae" Carr Cole, 90, 102 Piedmont Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, August 20, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Cole was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Jackson and Harriet Sams Carr. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Hugh Cole, and a son, Floyd Cole. Mrs. Cole was a homemaker and a member of Bunker Hill Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters, Hattie Cornett and Marie Cole, both of Elizabethton; a son, Owen Cole, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Janet Parlier, Elizabethton; a grandson, Richard Guy, Elizabethton; a special granddaughter-in-law, Robin; four great-grandchildren, Richard Guy II, Rebecca Guy, Rachel Guy and Randall Guy, all of Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, J.D. and Hattie Carr, New Ellenton, S.C.; and special nephews, Bill Manning, Elizabethton, and Mack Manning, Santa Clara, Calif. Dale Greenwell and Mr. John Smith, minister, officiating. Interment will follow the service at Cole Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be R.L. Head, Carl Burrough, Claude Jones, Tommy Elliott, Jack Clemons, Clarence Wilson and Earl White.
