Collins Maxie C. "Ma" Collins, 96, 184 George Bowers Road, Elizabethton, died Sunday, February 25, 2001, at her residence following an extended illness. Mrs. Collins was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Joseph and Emma Williams Carrier. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eston C. "Red" Collins, January 26, 1973, a son, Jerry Eugene Collins, June 17, 1988, three brothers, two sisters, a grandson, Leslie Allen Collins, and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Collins was a member of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Thelma Taylor, Lyndal and Charles Lowe and Phyllis Davis, all of Elizabethton; three sons and four daughters-in-law, Don and Omega Collins, Gary and Darlene Collins, Mack and June Collins and Helen Collins, all of Elizabethton; a brother, Gray Carrier, Elizabethton; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Charles and Judy Auvil, of Ohio.
