Cox Mrs. Georgia Jenkins Cox, 89, 410 Second Avenue, Hampton, died Friday, June 30, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Cox was a native of Hampton and a daughter of the late Charles P. and Sarah Douglas Jenkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Y. Cox, in 1975; by two sisters: Bonnie Harrell and Edna McCloud; by one brother, Charles P. Jenkins. She was a retired payroll clerk with American Bemberg Corp. Mrs. Cox was a member of the Hampton Christian Church, a member of the Carolyn Perry Circle and had served as the church organist for more than 50 years. She had also been the organist at the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home for more than 20 years. She was a member and past president of the Hampton Elementary School PTA and a member of the Hampton High School PTA, and the Hampton Garden Club. Survivors include one daughter and son-in-law, Sheila and Daniel Barbuck, Hampton; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Kimberly and David VanAsselberg, Roswell, Ga.; one great-grandson, David Brandon VanAsselberg, Roswell, Ga.; several nieces and nephews. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy COX -- Funeral services for Mrs. Georgia Jenkins Cox, 89, 410 Second Avenue, Hampton, will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, July 5, 2000, in the Sunset Chapel of the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, minister, officiating. Interment will follow in the Masonic section of the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be the men of Hampton Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Raymond Calhoun and Todd Potter. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1-3 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service.
