Cox Mrs. Inez Beatrice Cox, 94, 468 Cedar Grove Rd., Johnson City, died Tuesday, Mar. 27, 2001, at her residence after a brief illness. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Charles P. and Edna Holden Peters. Mrs. Cox was an active member of Cedar Grove Baptist Church for 65 years and was presently a member of the First Baptist Church, Elizabethton and he Philathea Sunday School Class. Her favorite pastime was reading her Bible. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Clint Cox; two daughters, Mary Marcus and Betty Ruth Cox; one brother, Charles P. Peters, Jr., and three sisters, Celia Boone, Pearl Woodby, and Dove Hicks. Survivors include six daughters and four sons-in-law, Geneva Marcus, Norma Hayes and Delores and Powell Jones, all of Johnson City, Maxine and Bill Cooper, Erwin, and Janice and Tom Bowman of Laurel, Md., Pat Bolinger, Limestone, and Gilmer Marcus, Johnson City; one brother, Howard Peters, Johnson City; and three sisters, Ruby Blevins, Watauga, Edna Freisland, Dallastown, Pa., and Mary Peters, Johnson City; 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. COX - Funeral services for Mrs. Inez Beatrice Cox, 94, 468 Cedar Grove Rd., Johnson City, who went to be with the Lord Tuesday, Mar. 27, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday in Roselawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Edgar Pierce officiating. John Bunn, soloist, and Scott Reynolds, organist, will provide the music. Pallbearers will be grandson and great grandsons. Also surviving are her special friends, the Philathea Sunday School Class of First Baptist Church and Mrs. Rosa Stout. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery.
