CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Virginia Beatrice (Teague) Crawford, 3 Jan 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Virginia B. Crawford Virginia Beatrice (Teague) Crawford, 84, 660 Tiger Creek Road, Roan Mountain, Tenn., died Friday, Jan. 3, 2003, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital after a short illness. Born Feb. 12, 1919, in Carter County, Tenn., Mrs. Crawford was a daughter of the late Will Teague and Elizabeth Moffitt Short. She was married to the late John F. Crawford who died in 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, David and Jerry, and a daughter, Mary Elizabeth, her brothers, Robert, Clifford, Clyde Teague and Don Short, and by her sisters, Sally Chamber and Bell Forbes. Mrs. Crawford was a member of the Tiger Creek Free Will Baptist Church. Survivers include two daughters, Esta Louise Chambers, Roan Mountain, and Nancy Franklin and her husband, Bobby, of Georgia; a son, James Crawford and his wife, Judy, Elizabethton; 12 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren; a sister, Irene Banks, Kingsport; and several nieces and nephews. Sunday in the East Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. John Vance officiating. The family will meet for a graveside service at the East Lawn Memorial Park at 2 p. m. Monday. Calling hours will be 5-7 p. m., Sunday at the East Lawn Funeral Home.
