Curde 09/09/99 Mrs. Blanche F. Curde, of Appalachian Christian Village, Johnson City, died Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at North Side Hospital. Mrs. Curde was 98 years old and a member of the Brick Christian Church for more than 80 years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Curde, a son, Ed Curde, three sisters and four brothers. She was lovingly known to her family and church family as "Mama Curde." Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Dorothy and J.A. McLain, Oklahoma City, Okla., and Sonja Trent, Watauga; three sons and three daughters-in-law, Ronnie Curde, Watauga, Tom and Dean Curde and Bruce and Shirley Curde, all of Elizabethton, and Betty Curde, Watauga; a sister, Mrs. Beulah Buck, Elizabethton; a brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Vivian Feathers, Johnson City; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of friends at the Village, where she had resided for the past several years. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. CURDE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche F. Curde, of Appalachian Christian Village, Johnson City, who graduated from this life on Tuesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Jeff Campbell and Mr. Gerald Holly officiating. Music will be provided by Woodrow Smalling, Ann Davis, Doug Smalling, Marion Mottern and Karen Groce. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, great-grandsons and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
