Davenport W.E. "Frank" "Red" Davenport, 97, 122 Old Charity Hill Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, November 19, 2005, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Davenport was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Milburn Alexander and Margie Treadway Davenport. Mr. Davenport was of the Baptist faith and had been the owner of a trucking company. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II. In addition to his parents, Mr. Davenport was preceded in death by his wife, Ossie Deloach Davenport, September 13, 2001; a son, Harold Davenport; two daughters, Alice Yvonne Davenport and Margie Coleman; two sisters, Virgie Nidiffer and Evelyn Edmison; and three brothers, Harley, Herman and Wilburn Davenport. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby Joe and Phyllis Davenport, Elizabethton, and Glen and Tina Davenport, Erwin; a son-in-law, Edgar Coleman, Elizabethton; 18 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and a brother, M.H.
