Docia L. Davis 





    Mrs. Docia Lyons Davis, 85, of Elizabethton, died Friday, April 27, 2007, 

at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. 





    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Venie 

Honeycutt Lyons. 





    Mrs. Davis was a graduate of Cloudland High School and had lived in 

Maryland from 1946 until 1984. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of 

Hyattsville, Md. 





    In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl 

Spurgeon Davis, in 1983, a brother, William Lyons, and a sister, Betty Jo 

Whitehead. 





    Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Barbara and Lester 

Ballard, Elizabethton, and Mary Alice Metcalf, Hampton; a son, Bud Davis, 

Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Teddi, Duane, Jason Derek, Daniel, William, 

Jason and David; ten great-grandchildren, Sarah, Kevin, Diana, D.J., Joey, 

William, Wyatt, Raquel, Ryan and Austin; her very special people in her life, 

Maddie and Rob Cox, Rod and Trena Whitehead, Bill and Jeanette Lyons and 

Christine Clark. Graveside services will be conducted at Lakemont Memorial 

Gardens, Davidsonville, Md. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. 

Sunday at Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton. Online condolences to the
