Ophelia Dixon 





    Ophelia Dixon, 98, 723 S. Lynn Avenue, Elizabethton, died Sunday, 

September 10, 2006, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. 





    Mrs. Dixon was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the later 

Gilbert Oscar and Minnie Belle Wilson. In addition to her parents, she was 

preceded in death by her husband, King Joseph Dixon, in 1980, and her brother, 

William Parker Wilson, in 2006. 





    Mrs. Dixon was a member of Phillippi Baptist Church. 





    Survivors include a sister, Mrs. Ruby Forney of Orange, N.J.; cousins; her 

goddaughter, Rev. Jeannette Clark of Elizabethton; and her caregivers, Betty 

McFarland and Mary Myrick, both of Elizabethton. 





    The funeral service for Mrs. Dixon will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. Friday, 

September 22, in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph 

Holifield and Rev. Jeannette Clark officiating. Music will be under the 

direction of the Phillippi Baptist Church Choir. The family will receive 

friends from noon until 12:30 p.m. Friday, prior to the service in the chapel. 

Interment will follow the service at Mountain Home National Cemetery. Active 

pallbearers will be deacons of Phillippi Baptist Church. Those who prefer 

memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the Phillippi Baptist 

Church (Improvement Fund), P.O. Box 1588, Elizabethton, TN 37644. Condolence
