Dugger James Maynard "Jimmy" Dugger, 80, 813 Hemlock Street, Elizabethton, died Thursday, November 8, 2007, at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Jett and Rosa Nell Ward Dugger. Mr. Dugger retired from North American Rayon Corporation after 43 years of service and was a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. He was a member of Watauga Masonic Lodge #622 F&AM, the Elizabethton York Rite Masonic Bodies and Jericho Temple Order of the Shrine, Kingsport. Mr. Dugger served on the Board of Directors for Happy Valley Credit Union for three years and on the Credit Committee for 29 years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Wilson and Laura Taylor. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Cannon Dugger, of the home; a son, Gary Dugger; a daughter and son-in-law, Elaine and Scott Wilson of North Carolina; four grandchildren, Jordan Masters and husband Kevin and Gavin Dugger, all of Erwin, Shawn Riddle and wife Vickie, Cool Springs, N.C., and Lance Riddle, Troutman, N.C.; three great-grandchildren, Nori Page Riddle, Calub James Riddle and Nicholas Trent Riddle; and four sisters, Anna Pate, Hannah Whitehead, Artha Loveless and Sue Dugger, all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Dugger will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 11, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Kenny Lethcoe officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kathy Lethcoe. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Gavin Dugger, Shawn Riddle, Lance Riddle, Kevin Masters, Terry Whitehead, Steven Whitehead, Charles McClure and David Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Joshua Ray Pate, Gale Lovelace, Terry Montgomery, Sue Butler, Paul Hopson, Harold Dugger, Joe Williams, Jacob Taylor, Gene Ritchie, Christine Bartz, members of Happy Valley Credit Union and his friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence at other times.
