Dunlap Robbie J. Dunlap, 97, was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Resurrection Sunday, April 16, 2006, surrounded by her loving family. Born January 31, 1909 in Cave City, Ky., she grew up and lived most of her life in Elizabethton. She was an active member of her church, First Christian of Elizabethton. She was the daughter of the late James and Nettie Isenberg Edwards. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Doris Faye Dunlap, a daughter, Linda Garland, a son, Robert G. "Bob" Dunlap Sr., and a grandson, Mike Davenport. Three sisters, Pauline Branch, Bernice Ledford and Claudia McGilvery, also preceded her in death. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Ed and Evelyn Dunlap and Steve and Linda Dunlap, a daughter, Margaret Snodgrass, and a daughter and son-in-law, Ruth and Herb Davenport, all of Elizabethton. Also surviving are 12 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and two very special friends, Heather Vines (and her dog J.J.) and Sonny Elliott (and his dog Baby). A Celebration of Life Service for Ms. Dunlap will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Dr. Don Marshall and Mr. Brent Nidiffer, ministers, officiating. Music will be provided by Jerry Dunlap and Kenny Laughters. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday or at the residence of a son, Steve Dunlap, 1003 Jordan Road, Elizabethton, at anytime. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 20, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be her grandsons, David and Mark Garland, Dale and Glen Dunlap, Todd and Eric Dunlap, Jerry and Randy Dunlap. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1905 or to the Building Fund, First Christian Church, 513 Hattie Avenue, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
