CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - William E. "Bill" Davis, 29 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- William E. Davis William E. "Bill" Davis, 88, Boone Street, Asbury Center, Johnson City, died Saturday, March 29, 2003, at Northside Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Davis was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Ruben B. and Cora Conley Davis. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Opal Mae Davis, three sisters, Leida Nidiffer, Maggie Davis and Mamie Davis, and two brothers, Charles Davis and Lonnie Davis. Mr. Davis was a member of the Elizabethton Church of Christ and was a former employee of Hart Industrial Supply and PPG. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in World War II. Survivors include a brother, Ralph Davis, Johnson City, and six sisters, Lucille Bales, Bernice Davis, Hildred Davis, Lola Ensor, Jean Carpenter and Ruby Hughes, all of Elizabethton.
