Joe D. Elliott 





    Joe Donald Elliott, 81, 607 Range Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, 

December 5, 2006, at the residence. 





    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Charlie and Belle 

Crowe Elliott. 





    Mr. Elliott was a graduate of Elizabethton High School. He was a retired 

employee of the Elizabethton Electric System, where he was employed for over 

50 years. In earlier years he served as a volunteer with the Elizabethton Fire 

Department. He was also one of the original members of the Carter County 

Rescue Squad. He was a member of East Side Baptist Church. 





    In addition to his parents, Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by three 

brothers, Alex, Carlton and Edward Elliott, and two sisters, Susie Buckles and 

Edna Nave. 





    Survivors include his loving companion, Nell Seaboch; a half sister, 

Mattie Campbell of Elizabethton; and a half brother, Wiley Elliott of 

Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    Funeral services for Mr. Elliott will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, 

December 7, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Doug Hardin officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be 

selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be former 

employees of the Elizabethton Electric System. The family will receive friends 

from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the
