Elliott PINEVILLE, N.C. -- Fred C. Elliott, 78, died Friday, December 7, 2007, at Carolinas Medical Center, Pineville, after a brief illness. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 12, at 4 p.m. at McEwen Pineville Chapel with Rev. Jack Knoespel of Saint Andrews United Methodist Church officiating. Fred was born on November 18, 1929 in Elizabethton, Tenn., to John and Ruth Elliott, the younger of their 10 children. His siblings, Herman, Floyd, Earl, Honor, Paul, Clay, Chloe and Wayne, all preceded him in death. Survivors include his sister, Lyndell White, and many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by Doreen Jones Elliott, his wife of nearly 50 years, and daughter Karen and her husband David Patton, and two lovely granddaughters, Caitlin and Devon. Included in his family are his two dogs, Judd and Bitta, his beloved companions. Fred retired after serving 20 years in the United States Air Force with prior service of two years in the National Guard. He was a veteran of the Korean War and served in Japan and England where he met his wife. After his military career, he worked in the computer technology field retiring at NCR. Fred had a great talent for music and could play by ear on nearly any instrument he touched. His favorite was the guitar. He shared his love of country and western music with a wide range of Internet friends. The family would like to thank Hospice and Palliative Care-Charlotte Region, 1420 E.
