Ora Ellison 





    Ora Ellison, 83, 743 Brown Branch Road, Hampton, died Thursday, June 22, 

2006, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Hospital. 





    Mr. Ellison was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Nat and 

Mary Brummitt Ellison. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 

his twin brother, Odis Ellison, in 2000. 





    Mr. Ellison was a member of the Freewill Baptist Church and was a veteran 

of World War II. 





    Survivors include three sons and two daughters-in-law, Nathan and Rita 

Ellison, Bob and Venita Ellison, of South Carolina, and Roger Ellison, 

Hampton; and a brother, Roy Ellison, Hampton. Six grandchildren, six great-

grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    Funeral services for Mr. Ellison will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, 

June 24, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Randy Hopson officiating. 

Interment will follow in the Lyons Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who 

are requested to assemble at the funeral chapel at 10:50 a.m. Saturday, will 

be Johnny Gentry, Adam Ellison, Mickey Ellison, Bradley Ellison, Richard 

Ellison, Gene Ellison, Cody Ellison, Mike Birchfield and Eugene Ellison. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Silver, Tim Pilk and Tim Airs. The family 

will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, prior
