Edens 01/26/99 Conley G. Edens, 73, 732 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, January 25, 1999, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mr. Edens was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Oscar and Ada Love Edens. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Hilton, and a brother, Thomas Edens. Mr. Edens was of the Baptist Faith. He was a U.S. Marine Veteran, serving in World War II, and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union #538 of Johnson City. Survivors include his wife, Opal Stout Edens, Elizabethton, and a sister, Hattie Price, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. EDENS -- Funeral services for Conley G. Edens, 73, 732 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hathaway- Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Joe Blythe officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Greg Price, Jim Price, Larry Wayne Price, Mike Price, Todd Dean Price, Scott Price and Tim Potter. To those who desire, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 247, Elizabethton, TN 37644. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 until 2 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service in the funeral chapel. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
