Mary Florence Edens

Mary Florence Edens, 74, Central Drive, Johnson City, died Friday, 
September 5, 2003, at Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. Edens was a native of Knoxville and had lived most of her life in 
Carter County. She was a daughter of the late William and Mabel Roberts 
Toney and was also preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Edens, in 
1985, a brother, Claude Toney, and a sister, Evelyn Creed.
Mrs. Edens retired from Leon-Ferenbach after 40 years of employment. She 
was a member of Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Delores and Michael Britt, 
Elizabethton, and Judy and Bill Barnett, Johnson City; her twin brother, 
Hubert Lawrence Toney, Johnson City; and four grandsons, Michael A. Britt 
and Matthew Britt, both of Elizabethton, Bradley Barnett, Gray, and Bryan 
Barnett, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted 8:30 p.m. Sunday, September 7, in the 
Morris-Baker South Chapel with the Rev. Reece Harris and the Rev. Chad 
Lunceford officiating. Special music will be provided by The Sinking Creek 
Ladies Ensemble and Jerry L. Barnett. The family will receive friends at 
the funeral home from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday. Interment will follow the 
committal service at 1:30 p.m. Monday, September 8, at Happy Valley Memorial 
Park, where friends are asked to meet the family for the service. Serving 
as pallbearers will be Mrs. Edens' four grandsons: Michael, Matthew, 
Bradley and Bryan, and Mike Sellers and Bobby Hash. Online condolences may
