CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Amanda Ola Eggers, 10 Sep 2002 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Amanda O. Eggers Mrs. Amanda Ola Eggers, 83, 145 Eggers Lane, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, September 10, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Eggers was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late George and Matilda Peters Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lane Eggers, March 22, 1976, and by five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Eggers was a retired employee of Levi-Strauss, having retired in 1984. She was a member of Stoney Creek Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Betty Jo Eggers (her care giver) and Vickie and Bobby Berry, all of Elizabethton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Lanny and Kim Eggers, Dwight Eggers and Larry and Juanita Eggers, all of Elizabethton; and three sisters, Burless Bowers, Anna Lee Oliver and Genneivee Farmer, all of Elizabethton. Six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. EGGERS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Amanda Ola Eggers, 83, 145 Eggers Lane, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, September 10, 2002, were conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Jordan officiating. Music was provided by Jamie Schaff. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 12, in the Grindstaff Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Thursday, will be Johnny Eggers, James Eggers, Josh Eggers, Leonard Bowers, Ronnie Taylor and Jimmy Eggers. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews and the staff of the 3rd Floor of Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her son and daughter-in-law, Lanny and Kim Eggers, 449 Race Street, Elizabethton.
