Elliott 08/10/99 Granville M. Elliott, 76, 1218 Broad Street Extension, Elizabethton, died Sunday, August 8, 1999, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center following an extended illness. Mr. Elliott was a native of Carter County and a son of the late James E. and Mahalia Oliver Elliott. Mr. Elliott was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of the East River Park Christian Church. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Bill Ballard, Atlanta, Ga.; five sisters, Charlotte Buckles, Thelma Fletcher Ledbetter, Wylmetta Buckles, Maggie Williams and Geraldine Brooks, all of Elizabethton; and a brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Wilma Jean Elliott, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. ELLIOTT -- Graveside services for Granville M. Elliott, 76, 1218 Broad Street Extension, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Caldwell Springs Cemetery with Rev. Darrell Holly officiating. Music will be provided by Gerald and Gloria Holly. Military Graveside Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, will be his nephews: Leonard Buckles, Jerry Buckles, Dwayne Buckles, Rusty Elliott, J.B. Morley, James Elliott, Randall Buckles and Mack Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a sister, Mrs. Wylmetta Buckles, 117 Harry Buckles Road, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
