Mrs. Elliott was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Benjamin Dudley and Emma Belle Tribble Shoun. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Brown Elliott, October 17, 1994, five brothers, Jesse, Andy, Earl, Leroy and Carl, and a sister, Vada. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Caldwell Springs Baptist Church and the Order of Eastern Star, Sycamore Chapter #163. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Evelyn and Joseph P. Dellinger, Arlington, Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, Mack and Ruth Elliott, Elizabethton; three granddaughters, Julia Swanner Shoun, LeAnn E. Eibl and Mickey Elliott, all of Elizabethton; a sister, Velva Nave, Elizabethton; and a brother, William H. Shoun, Elizabethton. Three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 542-2232, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick ELLIOTT -- Funeral services for Hazel Elliott, 88, formerly of Stoney Creek, who died Thursday, February 3, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, February 5, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Buddy Arnold officiating. Music will be under the direction of Edwin Taylor, organist, and Chad Ellis, soloist. An Eastern Star Funeral Ceremony will follow the regular funeral service. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 6, at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bill Shoun Jr., Gebe Ritchie, Herb Roberts, Chad Ellis, Jimmy Buckles, Sonny Elliott and Roger Shoun. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
