Verdia H. Elliott

   Mrs. Verdia H. Elliott, 89, Broad Street, Elizabethton, died 
Tuesday, May 7, 2002, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
   Mrs. Elliott was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late 
Hense and Minnie Williams Hodge. She was also preceded in death by a 
daughter, Helen Clark, a son, Gene Hammitt, two sisters and a brother.
   Mrs. Elliott was a member of Lynn Valley Baptist Church.
   Survivors include her husband, Wiley Elliott, and two daughters and 
sons-in-law, Linda and David Russell and Myra and Dayton Henson, all of 
Elizabethton. Seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also 
survive.
   Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
