CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Vivian J. "Nell" Elliott, 9 Apr 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Vivian J. "Nell" Elliott, 87, formerly of Elliott Street, Elizabethton, died Saturday, April 9, 2005, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. Mrs. Elliott was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Thomas and Jane Campbell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, David Harper and Homer Elliott; two sons, Alf Taylor and John D. Long; a daughter, Jane Salter; a grandson, Leslie Clemons; two granddaughters, Christine Taylor and Kathy Bowman; four brothers, Walter Campbell, John D. Campbell, Willie Campbell and Charlie Campbell; and five sisters, Ida Lewis, Maggie Galliher, Rosie Hurley, Flora Cable and Lee Nave. Mrs. Elliott was a member of Southside Free Will Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Frances Shipley and Dicie and Wayne Rouse, all of Elizabethton, and Idabelle and Benny Pleasant, Mountain City; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Jeanie Taylor, Fayetteville, N.C.; 16 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Elliott will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, April 11, in the Garden Room of Tetrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve Burleson and the Rev. Willie Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 8 p.m. Monday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Dicie Rouse, 518 Crowe Bottom Circle, Elizabethton, at anytime. The graveside service and interment will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 12, at Wilson Cemetery, Mountain City. Everyone planning to attend will meet at the funeral home at 11:45 a.m. Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jerry Rouse, Jamie Rouse, Jack Taylor, Ricky Deloach, Dustin Deloach, Harvey Tester, Willie Campbell and Terry Chambers. Honorary pallbearers will be Jesse Cable, Joe Cable, Wayne Rouse, Ralph Hyder, Grant Hall, Henry Elliott and Bill McKinney. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Cancer Society, 209 S. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643 or the American Heart Association, P.O.
