CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Fred Ellison, 23 Dec 2003

Fred Ellison, age 86, Conway St., Roan Mountain died Tuesday, 
December 23, 2003 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended 
illness. 
A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Sam and Betty 
Odom Ellison. 
He attended Little Doe Baptist Church and was a retired employee of 
Carter County Highway Department. 
He was a U.S. Navy veteran having served during World War II. 
Survivors include his wife, Marzetta Ellison, of the home; one daughter, 
Vickie Ellison Stout, Lenior, N.C.; one step-daughter, Patsy Perkins, 
Hickory, N.C.; two sisters, Nellie Ellison Scott, Watauga; Grace 
Ellison Smith, Watauga; two brothers, Wess Ellison, Elizabethton, and 
Reece Ellison, Johnson City; seven grandchildren and several great 
grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 
The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 
27, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain 
with Rev. Charlie Trivett officiating. Music will be under the 
direction of New Creations and The Melody Trio. Interment will follow 
the funeral service at Johnson - Roanview Cemetery. Military honors 
to be accorded by Capt. Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. Active 
pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family 
will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home 
chapel or friends may call at the residence 312 Conway St., Roan
