Emmert Arnold E. Emmert, 86, 1010 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, at Johnson City Medical Center following a short illness. Mr. Emmert was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Bate and Julie Jones Emmert. He was also preceded in death by a son, Roy Gene Emmert, a grandson, Kit Brian McQueen, and two brothers, Mack and Benick Emmert. Mr. Emmert was a retired millwright at Tennessee Tank and a member of Big Spring Church of Christ. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Lulean Dolan Emmert, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Midge and Kit McQueen and Brenda and Randy Crowe, all of Elizabethton; a special daughter-in-law, Phyllis Reece, St. Petersburg, Fla.; and nine grandchildren, Donnie Emmert, Chris McQueen, Melissa Buxton, Nathan Crowe, Sharon Tipton, Donna Vaughn, Renee Birchfield, Kristen Colon and Robin Webb. Thirteen great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Emmert, 86, 1010 Gap Creek Road, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, December 5, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, December 8, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Mr. H. Clay Bailey and Mr. Terry Lyons, ministers, officiating. Music will be by Miss Brandi Vaughn, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, December 9, in the Crown Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Donnie Emmert, Chris McQueen, Nathan Crowe, Jimmy Vaughn, Keith Tipton, Don Buxton, Mack Birchfield and Martin Colon. Honorary pallbearers will be Gordon Emmert, Larry Emmert and members of Big Spring Church of Christ. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Sunday.
