Mr. Estep was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Isaac and Zella Garland Estep. Mr. Estep was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a member of the Carter County REACT. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II. He served in the Military Police, he took part in the D-Day Beach Landing on Normandy, he served in the Battle of the Bulge and he served in the Philippines. He was a member of the Dungan Chapel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle Lowe Estep; three sons and a daughter-in-law, Jerry and Ruth Estep, Steve Estep and Terry Estep, all of Elizabethton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Danny Davis, Morristown, and Vicky and Terry Vandeventer, Johnson City; five grandsons; a granddaughter; four great-grandchildren; a niece, Ellen Richardson; and special friends, Snyder Nave and Debbie Manuel. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. ESTEP -- Graveside services for William "Bill" Estep, 74, 223 Jim Deal Road, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be conducted at 12 noon Wednesday in the Ensor Cemetery with Rev. Eric Heaton and Rev. James Richardson officiating. Interment will follow the service. Dale Williams, soloist, will provide the music. Military Graveside Honors will be conducted by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 11:20 a.m. Wednesday, will be Kane Williams, Jeff Lowe, Ricky Lowe, Arlie Cole, Terry Vandeventer and Eddie Speer. Honorary pallbearers will be Snyder Nave, Roy Richardson, Frank Greene, Ralph Smith, David Estep, Wayne Smith, Earl Rogers and his friends of North American Rayon Corporation. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
