CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Rebecca Archer Estep, 17 Apr 1955

The following obituary appeared in the April 18, 1955 edition of the
Elizabethton Star.  Civil War pension records have Rebecca's year of birth as
1862.  She would have been 93 instead of 95 at the time of her death.  Rebecca
Archer was the daughter of William Smith Archer and Nancy Ann Markland.

Mrs. Rebecca Archer Estep, 95 of Route 1, Elizabethton died at her home Sunday
afternoon after an illness of four months.  She was the wife of the late Isaac
J. Estep, who preceeded her in death in 1945. She was a member of the Park
Street Church of God.  Survivors include five sons Andy Estep, Will Estep,
S.M. Estep all of Route 1, Elizabethton, Campbell Estep of 1020 West G Street,
Elizabethton and John Estep of 122 Railroad Street, Elizabethton, two
daughters, Mrs. C.F. Crowe of Guild, Tennessee and Mrs. Rhudy Fortner of Route
1, Elizabethton, thirty-two grand children and thirty-four great
grandchildren. One sister Mrs. Sallie Bowers of Route 7, Elizabethton.
