CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Beatrice H. Hopson Estep, 30 Dec 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Beatrice Estep Mrs. Beatrice H. Hopson Estep, 90, 720 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, December 30, 2002 at Pine Ridge Health Care following a brief illness. A native and lifelong resident of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Ellen Arnett Hopson. She was a member of Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church and the D.V.A. #17. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Estep, February 18, 1977; one son, William "Bill" Estep, December 29, 2000; three brothers, and four sisters. Survivors include two daughters; Clara Sue Oliver, Elizabethton; and Vivian Ann Carr, Watauga; one brother, Raymond Hopson, Wichita, Kan.; six sisters, Kathryn Potter Hardin, Elizabethton; Martha Campbell, Beulah Campbell, Pearl Markland, and Betty Jean Potter, all of Roan Mountain; and Gertrude Morrell, Bluff City. ESTEP -- The funeral service for Mrs. Beatrice H. Hopson Estep, 90, 720 Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, December 30, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, January 1, 2003 in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Wallace Amos, Rev. Mark Street and Rev. Steve Burleson, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Keenburg Freewill Baptist Church choir. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, January 2, 2003 in the Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and husband of granddaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Campbell, Jerry Perry, Dr. Stephen May and the staff of Pine Ridge Health Care. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday or at the residence of either daughter at any time.
