CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Nora Lou Humphrey Estep, 2 Apr 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Nora Estep Mrs. Nora Lou Humphrey Estep, 70, DeJarnette Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William H. and Rose Reece Humphrey. She was a 1951 graduate of Elizabethton High School. Mrs. Estep was a retired employee of Whites Supermarket. She had formerly been employed in the meat department of Smithdeals Supermarket for several years. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Elizabethton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Bill Humphrey. Survivors include her husband, Samuel M. "SM" Estep; a son and daughter-in-law, Gene and Carolyn Estep, Elizabethton; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Edna and J.L. Collins, Mary and Ted Bryant, and Martha and Bob Dorsey, all of Elizabethton, and Ruth and Charles Baker, of Panama City, Fla.; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Linda Humphrey, Elizabethton, and Mrs. Ruth Humphrey, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Cara Leanna Estep; a grandson, Craig Matthew Estep. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. ESTEP -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Lou Humphrey Estep, 70, DeJarnette Street, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, April 2, 2003 will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 3, 2003 in Memorial Funeral hapel with Mr. Brent Nidiffer and Mr. H. Clay Bailey, ministers, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, April 4, 2003 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Scott Reynolds, organist, will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday will be Craig Estep, David Humphrey, Larry Collins, Eddie Bryant, Dean Estep, Michael Dorsey, Stephen Dorsey, Ken Calloway, Delbert Loudermilk and Millard Fitzsimmons. Honorary pallbearers will be friends of First Christian Church and friends of Whites Supermarket and the former Smithdeals Supermarket. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
