CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Alfred Estep, 11 Jul 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Alfred Estep Alfred Estep, 75, Wilbur Dam Road, Elizabethton, died Friday, July 11, 2003, at his residence. A native of Carter County, Mr. Estep was the son of the late William Thomas and Fannie Mae Parker Estep. He was preceded in death by a son, Ricky Lynn Estep; and three brothers, Earl, Nathaniel and Billy Jack Estep. Mr. Estep was employed at Jellico Grocery for several years and retired from Watauga Industries. He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Mr. Estep was a member of Roan Street Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Georgia Trusler Estep; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Alfred Samuel Estep and wife, Dana, Woodstock, Ga., and Jerry Lee Estep, Elizabethton; one sister, Daisy Mae Estep, Elizabethton; two brothers, David Cooley Estep and Ray Estep, both of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Taylor B. Estep; a grandson, Alfred Miller Estep, both of Woodstock, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. ESTEP -- Funeral services for Alfred Estep, 75, Wilbur Dam Road, Elizabethton, who died Friday, July 11, 2003, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Roan Street Church of God with the Revs. Kenneth Bewley, Earl Golden and J.W. Norris officiating. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 1:50 p.m. Monday, will be Loyd Beard, Lowell Shell, Glen Trusler, Marvin Webb, Steve Lewis, Clark Harding, John Harriett, Jr. and Randy Shell. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Elliott, Andy Hood, John Allen, Eddie Manning, Carl Estep, Floyd Estep, Billy Brock, Walter Miles, Norman Markland, Richard Woodside, The Men's Fellowship of Roan Street Church of God, the doctors and staff of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center and friends and neighbors of the Siam Community. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
