CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Roy K. Estep, 14 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Roy K. Estep, 77, Earl Avenue, Elizabethton, died Sunday, December 14, 2003 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late S.M. Estep, Sr. and Nannie Carden Estep. Mr. Estep was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. He was a member of Roan Street Church of God and attended Doe River Baptist Church. Mr. Estep was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was preceded in death by a nephew, Bobby Estep. Survivors include his wife, Mary Kate Reece Estep; two sons and daughters- in-law, Wayne and Stephanie Estep, Morristown, and Glen and Barbara Estep, Johnson City; one sister and brother-in-law, Novella and Charles Treadway, Elizabethton; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Carl and Eunice Estep, Floyd and Frances Estep and S.M. Estep, Jr., all of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, December 15, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Earl Golden and Rev. Kenneth Bewley officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 16, 2003 in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Sue Estep and Gene Estep will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday will be Larry Kennedy, Richard Culver, Dwight Reece, Vernon Crain, Freddie Julian, Mike Whitehead, Dean Estep and Kelly Crain. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Whitehead and the church families of Roan Street Church of God and Doe River Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
