Fair Mr. Hubert E. "John" Fair, 85, 293 Coal Chute Road, Elizabethton, passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007, in the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Nursing Home, Mountain Home, following an extended illness. Mr. Fair was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Dave and Annie Hampton Fair. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served in WWII. Mr. Fair was a retired electrician and a member of Centerview Church of Christ. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren very much. In addition to his parents, Mr. Fair was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Casey Fair, on Sept. 4, 2001; a sister, Edith Pierce; and three brothers, Luther Fair, Jarvis Fair and Clarence "Feeder" Fair. Mr. Fair is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Randy and Lea Fair, Lenoir City; Roger and Jill Fair, Elizabethton; six grandchildren, Jeremy Fair, Elizabethton, Ryan Fair, Unicoi, Jason Fair, Hampton, Chad Jones, North Port, Ala, Israel Jones, Lenoir City, and Skylar Fair, Elizabethton; four great-grandchildren, Joshua Fair, Unicoi, Emily Jones, Lenoir City, Meechelle Fair, Vienna, W.V., and Alex Jones, North Port, Ala.; three sisters, Margaret Greene, Johnson City, Helen James, Johnson City, and Eulee Carden, Tampa, Fla.; three brothers, L.D. Fair, Elizabethton, Milt Fair, Elizabethton and Winfred Fair, Hampton, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mr. Fair was conducted on Saturday, Dec. 29, 2007, at 6 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace, Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Mr. David Irick, Minister, officiating. The family received friends in the funeral home chapel from 4-6 p.m., Saturday prior to the service. The graveside service and interment will be conducted on Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007, at 3 p.m. in Happy Valley Memorial Park.
