Harry Albert Fondren 





    NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. -- Harry Albert Fondren, 87, husband of Edith 

June Earhart Fondren, died Monday, September 18, 2006, at Grand Strand 

Regional Medical Center. 





    Mr. Fondren was born November 13, 1918 in Elizabethton, Tenn., a son of 

the late Samuel Albert and Jennie Cook Fondren. In addition to his parents, he 

was preceded in death by a son, Roger Neal Fondren. 





    Mr. Fondren was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in WWII, and was a 

recipient of the Silver Star. He was a life member of the VFW and the Masonic 

Lodge of North Myrtle Beach. He was also a member of King of Glory Lutheran 

Church. 





    Survivors, in addition to his wife, include two sons, Leslie Wade Fondren 

and wife Cookie of North Myrtle Beach and Harry Jerome Fondren of St. Louis, 

Mo,; and two daughters, Patricia Jane Fondren and Teresa Mae Fondren, both of 

Conway, S.C. Five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren also survive. 





    A memorial service for Mr. Fondren will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, 

September 20, at King of Glory Lutheran Church with Pastor Hobby Outten 

officiating. The family will receive friends following the service. A 

graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 22, at Happy 

Valley Memorial Park in Elizabethton. Memorials may be made to King of Glory 

Lutheran Church, 818 Jordan Road, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. An online
