Nell G. Foster 





    Nell G. Foster, 89, 710 East 2nd Street, Elizabethton, passed from this 

life on Monday, March 19, 2007, 12 days short of her birthday, at Life Care 

Center of Elizabethton. 





    A native of Carter County, she was the youngest child of James A. and Lona 

Cordell Cornett. 





    Mrs. Foster was a housewife and earlier had enjoyed cooking for her 

family. In her earlier years she worked at the rayon plants. She was of the 

Baptist faith and she enjoyed talking to her neighbors and family. 





    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Foster was preceded in death by her 

husband, Ed Foster, in 1978, and by 10 siblings and all of her in-laws. She 

was the lone survivor of her generation. 





    Survivors include two sons, Charles "Phil" and his wife Bernice Hyder, 

from her former marriage, and Eddie F. Foster, Kingsport, by her latter 

marriage; her grandchildren, John Hyder, Anisa Hill, Lutchia Foster, Angie 

Foster and Brooke (Jim) Stewart; and her great-grandchildren, Chelsea, 

Alexandra, Kaylee, Kobey, Jakub and Noah. 





    Funeral services for Mrs. Foster will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, 

March 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Gene Cornett and the Rev. 

Jerry Cornett officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. 

Thursday, March 22, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be 

selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 

p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the 

funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Thursday to go to the cemetery. Online condolences
