Goldie B. Fair, age 78, Hobert Hyder Dr., Elizabethton, died 
Saturday, January 3, 2004 in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an 
extended illness. 
Mrs. Fair was a native of West Jefferson, N.C., and had lived most of 
her life in Carter County. 
She is the daughter of the late John and Maude Miller Bare. 
Mrs. Fair was a member of Roan Street Freewill Baptist Church and was a 
retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. 
She is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel H. Fair, Jr. (1992) and 
several brothers and sisters. 
Survivors include four children and spouses: Janet Morgan, Elizabethton; 
Ronnie Fair and wife, Becky, Elizabethton; Jackie Boone, Elizabethton; 
Randy Fair and wife, Marianne, Jonesborough; one brother, Burley Bare, 
Greensboro, N.C.; two sisters, Ossie Burrow, Elizabethton and Betty Jo 
White, Archdale, N.C.; 10 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a 
special friend, Luther Fair, Johnson City; several nieces and nephews 
also survive. 
The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Monday, January 5, 
2004 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with 
Rev. Ray Stockton and Rev. Jackie Cole officiating. The family will 
receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday prior to the service. The graveside 
service and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 6, 
2004 at the Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Rick Morgan, 
Wiley Morgan, Grady Whitehead, Jamie Hubbard, Gerrad Kyte, Tim Fair, 
Brandon Whitehead and Lance Whitehead. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky 
Morgan and Steven Cornett. Everyone will meet at Tetrick Funeral Home at 
9:30 a.m. on Tuesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Those who prefer 
memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to the American Lung 
Association of Tennessee, One Vantage Way, Suite C-250, Nashville, TN, 
37228. Friends may also call at any of the children's homes, Janet Morgan, 
422 Gap Creek Rd., Elizabethton; Ronnie Fair, 1705 Siam Rd., Elizabethton; 
Jackie Boone, 113 Oakmont St., Elizabethton and Randy Fair, 102 Hairtown
