CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Donald J.S. Fair, 21 Apr 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- WYOMING, Del. -- Master Sgt. USAF Retired Donald J.S. Fair, 75, of Wyoming, died Thursday, April 21, 2005, at Bay Health/Kent General Hospital, Milford. Mr. Fair was born December 26, 1929 in Elizabethton, Tenn., the son of the late Samuel and Lillie Humphries Fair. Mr. Fair served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 27 years, retiring in 1974. He served in Germany, France and Korea, as well as various stateside assignments, and retired from Dover Air Force Base. His medals include the Berlin Airlift Device, Medal for Humane Action, Army Occupation Medal with Germany Clasp, the National Defense Service Medal and the Korea Service Medal. Before joining the Air Force, Mr. Fair was a platen pressman for the Elizabethton STAR in Elizabethton, Tenn., from 1944 to 1946. He was an avid reader and enjoyed following current and political events, and was a past umpire with the Camden-Wyoming Little League. He was a member of the Air Force Sergeants Association and the Disabled American Veterans. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Louise Fair; three daughters and sons- in-law, Donna and Nels Berdahl, Boiling Springs, Pa., Kathy Fair and Chip Scanlan, St. Pete's Beach, Fla., and Margie and Tom MacLeish, Wyoming, two sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Susi Fair, Kenton, and Fred and Kim Fair, Dover; 10 grandchildren Sonja, Caitlin, Lianna, Michaela, Tom, Dan, Ryan, Sean, Brandy and Sierra; and one great-grandchild, Benjamin. sMemorial services with full military honors for Mr. Fair will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, April 25, in the Delaware Veterans Memorial CemeterForce Base Museum Foundation, 1301 Heritage Road, Dover AFB, DE 19902.
