CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Lois B. Fields, 7 Aug 2004

Lois B. Fields, 80, U.S. Highway 19E, Elk Park, N.C., died Saturday, 
August 7, 2004, at her residence. 
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Neer and Ethel 
Greer Oaks. 

She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and 
was a homemaker. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Roland 
Fields; two sons, Jerry Fields and Charles Buchanan; six sisters Oda Johnson, 
Hazel Hayes, Elva Birchfield, Alice Beeler, Lola Church, and Mary Ruth 
Markland, and one brother Fred Oaks. 

Survivors include one sister, Nola Freeman, Jonesborough; two brothers, 
Tull Oaks, Sr., Roan Mountain, and Levi Oaks, Gary, Ind. Several nieces and 
nephews also survive

The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, August 9, 2004, in 
the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Roan Mountain, with Branch 
President Jeff Boone and Rev. Tull Oaks, Jr. officiating. Music will be 
under the direction of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. The 
family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday, prior to the service 
in the chapel. The graveside service and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. 
Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in Taylor's Chapel Cemetery, Elk Park, N.C. Active 
pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearer 
will be Dr. Stephen Cook. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are 
asked to meet at the cemetery Tuesday, at 9:55 a.m. Those who prefer memorials 
in lieu of flowers may make donations to Taylors Chapel Cemetery, c/o J's 
Market, Elk Park, NC 28622.
