CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Valorie C. Ferguson, 23 Apr 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Valorie C. Ferguson Mrs. Valorie C. Ferguson, 94, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, formerly of Alexander Apartments, died Wednesday, April 23, 2003 in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William and Verta May Estridge. She had lived a number of years in Florida before returning to Elizabethton. Mrs. Ferguson was owner and operator of the Valette Beauty Shop for several years. She was a State Inspector for Beauty Shops for the State of Tennessee for a number of years. She was a former director of the Carter County American Red Cross. She retired as Executive Director of the Bristol, Tenn. Red Cross. Mrs. Ferguson was a 50-year member and Past Matron of Sycamore Chapter #163, Order of Eastern Star. She was Past Grand Matron of Tennessee, Order of Eastern Star 1975 to 1976. Her session was the Diamond Jubilee Session. She was a Past Mother Advisor of Elizabethton Assembly #71; International Order of Rainbow for Girls. Mrs. Ferguson was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Ferguson, and a sister, Frances Liasak. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William T. Muse, Sr. and Erma Muse, Johnson City; two grandchildren, Sherrye Muse Orr and William T. Muse, Jr., both of Johnson City, and one great granddaughter, Jennifer Orr. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. FERGUSON -- Memorial services for Mrs. Valorie C. Ferguson, 94, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, formerly of Alexander Apartments, who died Wednesday, April 23, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, April 25, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Sycamore Chapter #163, Order of Eastern Star presiding.
