CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gussie Irick Frazier, 28 Dec 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Gussie Irick Frazier, 74, Randolph Street, Florence, Ala., passed away at her home on Dec. 28, 2004, following a lengthy illness with cancer. She was the daughter of the late B and Emma Birchfield Irick. She was a graduate of Hampton High School and attended East Tennessee State University. She received her R.N. degree in nursing at the Appalachian School of Nursing in 1952. After her marriage to A.W. "Bill" Frazier, they moved to Florence, Ala., where she worked as a R.N. at the Coffee Memorial Hospital before starting her family. She was a member of the Sherrod Avenue, Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Dallas, Thomas, Clark and Eddie Irick, and two sisters Bernice Williams and Delmer Irick. She is survived by her husband, A.W. "Bill" Frazier, of the home, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Gordon and Sue Frazier, Oxford, Ala. and Tony Frazier, Tuscumbia, Ala.; one daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Mark Guimond, Evans, Ga.; three grandchildren, Rachel Jones, Wesley Frazier, and Lucas Roger Guimond; two step- grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, Mary Catherine and Emma Grace Jones; one sister and brother-in-law, Amy and Darnel Baird, Elizabethton; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service was conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31, 2004 at Elkins Funeral Home, Florence, Ala., with Minister Kenny Barfield officiating. The family received friends in the funeral home chapel on Friday, from 6-8 p.m. prior to the service hour, or friends may also call at the residence, 2219 Randolph Street, Florence, Ala. any time. The graveside service was conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, at Tri-Cities Memorial Gardens, Florence, Ala.
