Fitzsimmons 01/06/99 Mrs. Florence L. Fitzsimmons, 91, 1106 Grove Street, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, January 5, 1999, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Fitzsimmons was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late Jessie William and Lena Mottern Large. She was also preceded in death by her husband, M.A. Fitzsimmons Sr., in 1983, and a son, Charles H. Fitzsimmons. Mrs. Fitzsimmons was part owner and worker at Fitzsimmons Printing Company in Elizabethton for over 50 years. She was a lifelong member of First Christian Church. Survivors include a son, Millard A. Fitzsimmons Jr., of the home; a daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Mary Elizabeth and Hugh Hatfield, Elizabethton; a grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Charles II and Dee Fitzsimmons, Charlotte, N.C.; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Emmalena and David Scott, Elizabethton; and five great-grandchildren, Nikki and Hannah Fitzsimmons, both of Charlotte, N.C., David Allen Scott, Tiffany Scott and Brittany Scott, all of Elizabethton. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. FITZSIMMONS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Florence L. Fitzsimmons, 91, 1106 Grove Street, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be held at 8 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary of First Christian Church with Mr. Don Marshall, Mr. Hugh Hatfield and Mr. Charles Fitzsimmons II, ministers, officiating. Music will be by Mr. John Smith, soloist, Mrs. Gene Estep, organist, and Mrs. Sharon Brown, music director. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday in the Southview Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dean Vines, Bill Young, Leonard Febuary, Dr. John Green, Mike Carter, Orris Densford, Jerry Franklin, David Allen Scott, David Scott and James Rainey. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of First Christian Church, the men of First Christian Church, Dr. Stephen May, Dr. Robert Walter and Dr. Nicholas Burik. The family will receive friends at First Christian Church from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Hatfield, 102 Hatfield Road, Elizabethton, any time. The family, friends, ministers and pallbearers will meet at First Christian Church at 10 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
