Dorothy M. Gardner 





    Dorothy Maye Tester Gardner, 89, formerly of 710 E. 2nd Street, 

Elizabethton, died Sunday morning, June 4, 2006, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. 





    Mrs. Gardner was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 

Lewis A. and Rosie Jane Cable Tester. In addition to her parents, she was 

preceded in death by her first husband, William E. Brown, and four 

stepchildren. 





    Mrs. Gardner was a homemaker and a member of First Freewill Baptist 

Church. 





    Survivors include her husband, James Gardner; four daughters, Judy D. 

Smith of Ohio, Christina Souder of Johnson City, Regina Presnell of 

Elizabethton and Susan Hazenfield of Ohio; two sons, R. Eugene Brown of 

Elizabethton and Douglas R. Brown of Washington; and five stepchildren, James 

H. Brown, William L. Brown, Marilyn Eastham, Jimmy Gardner and Doris Combs. 

Fifteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and stepgrandchildren along 

with several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    Funeral arrangements will be announced later. 





    Memorial Funeral chapel is in charge of arrangements.
