A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late John B. and Callie Ward Trivette. She was retired in restaurant management and also as a sales clerk. Mrs. Greene was an active Member of East Side Christian Church and the ladies circle of the church. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Greene, Sept. 4, 1999. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-In-law, James and Loretta Hendley, Elizabethton and John Greene, of the home; two sisters, Anna Mae Fortner and her husband, David C. Fortner, Bristol, Va., and Arbeulah Lambert, Butler; one brother, Ernest Trivette and his wife, Betty Trivette, Butler; several nieces and nephews; her special friends, Margaret Stout and Patsy Freeman; her sisters-in-law, Pat Gentry, Geraldine Hill, Becky Gardner and their families, and a brother-in-law, David Caughron, and families. Funeral Services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. John H. Smith, minister, officiating. Graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, will be Dub Ward, Wes Holsclaw, Bill Ciphers, Eddie Thomason, Allen Thomason, Keith Carr, Lynn Bowers and Steve Burrough. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hopson, Gary Good, James Mottern, Dave Walters, Bill Proffitt and Stephen and Eric Grindstaff. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence. To those who prefer, Memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Greene to the East Side Christian Church, 1400 Siam Road, Elizabethton, TN 37643.
