Mrs. Greene was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Frank and Sallie Main Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Greene, in January 2005, three brothers, W.K., Robert O. and Brownlow Smith, and a sister, Letta Walker. Mrs. Greene was a member of the Zion Baptist Church. She was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 35 years of employment. Survivors include two sons, J. Louie Greene, Hampton, and Jeffrey Frank Greene, of the home, and three sisters, Doris Troutman and Lillian Cutlip, both of Hampton, and Jean Morris, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Greene will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, August 23, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C.W. Snodgrass officiating. Music will be provided by the Zion Baptist Church Choir. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service hour. The family would like to express special thanks to the Charlotte Taylor Center, Dr. Ali Garatli and Linda Oliver and her caregivers, Norma Surles, Lisa Stout, Monika Heaton, Sue Oliver and Roberta Potter.
