Garland 07/22/99 Arra B. Garland, 82, 1614 Orlando Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Garland was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late John and Emma Morton Hyder and was also preceded in death by her husband, Ira Garland, in 1968, five brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Garland was a retired employee of TPI. Survivors include four sons, Curtis Lynn Church, Palm Bay, Fla., Richard L. Church, Elizabethton, Bobby Church, Jonesborough, and Sammy Garland, Johnson City; a daughter, Linda Gourley, Jonesborough; and a brother, Clyde Hyder, Johnson City. Twelve grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements. GARLAND -- Funeral services for Arra B. Garland, 82, 1614 Orlando Drive, Johnson City, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Friday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Rev. Dale Ferrell officiating. Interment will follow graveside services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Roselawn Memory Gardens. The family and friends are asked to meet at the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. Saturday and go in procession to the cemetery for those services. Pallbearers will be the following grandsons: Bobby L. Church, Richard Church Jr., Billy Church, David W. Church, Joey Church, Aaron Gourley, David Garland, Buddy Church and Gene Austin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Friday and other hours at the homes of her children.
