Garland Ruby Nadine Grindstaff Garland, 72, 1271 Bluefield Avenue, Lynnwood Apt. A-1, Elizabethton, died Saturday, July 29, 2000, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Garland was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Earl and Zora Peters Grindstaff. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Garland, October 16, 1986. Mrs. Garland was a member of Moores Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Travis Keith Garland, of the home, and his fiance, Angela Barnett; a daughter and son-in-law, Connie and Sam Jones, Elizabethton; other special members of her family: Linda and Michael Honeycutt, Robin Gibson & Children, Gaylon Combs, Brandon Combs, Casey Garland, Christine Garland, Kevin Stover, Anna Morton, Beth Clemons and Burley Clemons. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. GARLAND -- Graveside services and interment for Ruby Nadine Grindstaff Garland, 72, 1271 Bluefield Avenue, Lynnwood Apt. A-1, Elizabethton, who died Saturday, July 29, 2000, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 1, in the Garland Cemetery with Pastor Melvin Ferrell officiating. Vicki Ferrell will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, will be Burley Clemons, Kevin Stover, Sam Jones, Travis Garland, Malcolm Johnson and Terry Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Rondal Peters, J.M. Peters, Clifford Peters, Norman Peters, Buford Peters, Keith Garland, Casey Garland, Doug Gibson, Pete Bowling, Todd Bowling and Earl Scruggs. Friends may call at the funeral home or at the residence any time. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday to go to the cemetery.
