CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Gladys "Glady" Garland, 24 Mar 2005 ----¤¤¤---- TITUSVILLE, Fla. -- Gladys "Glady" Garland, 94, of Titusville, Fla., passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2005. Mrs. Garland was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., and was a longtime resident of both Elizabethton and Johnson City before moving to Florida. She was a radio and television engineer in Johnson City as well as an aerospace draftsman at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. She was instrumental in the development of WJHL. She was, over her 94 years, a devoted member of Borderview Christian Church, First Christian Church of Johnson City and the First Christian Church of Titusville, Fla. Survivors include her daughter, Evelyn Hill; her husband, Sidney "Hoot"; grandson, Tony McGlone; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Lisa and George Ciaramella; a great-grandson, Zachary Ciaramella; and a sister, Ethel Reynolds. Funeral services for Mrs. Garland were held at the First Christian Church of Titusville on Tuesday, March 29. A graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, April 1, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. David Clark and Mr. Eddie Fine, ministers, officiating. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Gladys' name would be appreciated.
