Juanita C. Gourley

   Juanita Clemons Gourley, 80, of Spencer, formerly of Elizabethton, 
died Wednesday, September 5, 2001, at her residence.
   Mrs. Gourley was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the 
late Isaac and Rassie Messimore Clemons. She was also preceded in death 
by her husband, James William Gourley, October 5, 1992.
   Mrs. Gourley was a member of Hill Road Baptist Church for the past 
two years and a former member of East Side Baptist Church, Elizabethton.
   Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Brenda Gayle Hampton, 
Elizabethton, and Jackie Lynn and Larry Davis, Spencer, and a son and 
daughter-in-law, James "Jim" William and Jean Gourley, Lakeland, Fla. 
Thirteen grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and several nieces and 
nephews also survive.

   GOURLEY -- Funeral services for Juanita Clemons Gourley, 80, of Spencer, 
formerly of Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, September 5, 2001, will be 
conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, September 7, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick 
Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Holly officiating. Music will be under 
the direction of Claude Duncan, soloist. Graveside services and interment 
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at Patton-Simmons 
Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law, 
Matthew Lynn Bowling, Tony Allen, Raymond Johnson, Phillip Brymer, Stewart 
Stevenson, Matthew Davis, Michael Davis and Steven Gourley. Everyone will 
meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the 
cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the 
funeral home. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make 
donations to Adventa Hospice, 106 Rogosin Drive, Elizabethton, Tenn. 37643.
