CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Bobby R. Greene, 2 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Bobby R. Greene Bobby R. Greene, age 73, East K Street, Elizabethton, left to be with his Lord and Savior suddenly on Sunday, November 2, 2003 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Rufus Thomas and Mary Celica Lewis Greene. Mr. Greene was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church and retired from Nuclear Fuels Services. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam. Mr. Greene completed college through the U.S. Air Force. He is preceded in death by one son, Rick Thomas Greene. Survivors include his wife, Janet Marie Greene, of the home; one daughter, Susan Marie Symore, of Minnesota; one son, Stephen Ray Greene, of Wisconsin; three step daughters, Judith Rexrode, of the home; Wanda Hunter and Frances Miller, both of Elizabethton; two step sons, Russell Rexrode, of Virginia; Daniel Rexrode, Elizabethton; one sister, Betty Ann Bell, of Pennsylvania; one brother, Carl Thomas Greene, Elizabethton; three grandchildren; eight step grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton with Rev. Joe Sorah and Rev. Bob Bell officiating. Music will be under the direction of Tyler Hyder. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2003 at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Allen Hicks, Daniel Rexrode, Jonathan Rexrode, Larry Mink, Daniel Waggy and Jerald Oliver. Honorary pallbearers will be Teddy Miller and Howell Wiseman. Military honors to be accorded by Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Everyone will meet at the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home, or friends may call at the residence at any time.
