Ted Sherman Greene, 88, of Route 1, Elk Park, N.C., died Sunday, March 27,
2005, at Oakwood Hospital, Dearborn, Mich.

Mr. Greene was a native of Avery County, N.C., and a son of the late Lee and
Polly Lunceford Greene. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death
by his wife, Maude Greene, and a son, Terry Lyle Greene.

Mr. Greene was a member of Flat Springs Baptist Church. He had worked in
construction and served in the U.S. Army in World War II.

Survivors include two sons, Teddy Greene, Highlands, N.C., and Lynn Greene,
Elk Park, N.C.; six grandchildren, three step-grandchildren;19 great-
grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; a brother, Coot Greene, Elk Park,
N.C.; two sisters-in-law, Wanda Clair and her husband Tommy, of Michigan, and
Elva Watson, Boone, N.C.; a brother-in-law, J.M. Greene and his wife Marquita,
and a special friend, Denise and her family, Lincoln Park, Mich. Several
nieces and nephews and numerous friends also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Greene will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, March
31, at Flat Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Greene and Rev. Qunicy Norris
officiating. Music will be provided by the church choir. Interment will follow
in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church from 1
to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the
residence at anytime. Active pallbearers will be Jeremy Gregoire, Mike Roark,
Kevin Greene, Jerry Greene, Gary Guy and Boyd Stines. Online condolences may
